Barton's Point - Amenities

Barton's Point offers an open lake with no surrounding trees, houses or obstructions.  It has good launching facilities along with good standing areas to sail from in all wind directions.

The club has a dinghy with electric outboard for course setting and retrieval of stranded yachts as well as a race starting system.

Public parking and toilets are directly alongside the water, together with The Boat House Cafe*.

On club race days (Thursdays) the first race starts at 10.30am, with no race starting after 14.30pm. A 30 minute lunch break is scheduled for circa 12.30pm.

Members start gathering in the car park between 9.00 - 9.30am to give them time to rig and tune their boats ahead of the racing start.

There are several concrete dock areas for launching and recovery. However, parts of the control area could be grass, so appropriate footwear should be worn. The lake is very exposed with no shelter, please wear appropriate clothing for the time of year.

Visitors are welcome to come and sail with us up to 3 times before they are requested to join our growing membership.  If you intend to come along, please call ahead to ensure that we can keep you informed of any last-minute changes or cancellations.

Check the schedule on our Home page for the next Barton's Point race day.

* Cafe opening varies depending on weather conditions and season.
